“The Watchers” is the feature directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan based on the book of the same name written by A.M. Shine. The movie is a mystery/thriller that takes place in Western Ireland and follows Mina, (Dakota Fanning) a 28-year-old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest where she finds shelter and unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are stalked by mysterious creatures every night. Ishana was born in Philadelphia and attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Ishana is the daughter of M. Night Shyamalan who produced the film. She has previously worked with her father as the second unit director for the 2021 film “Old” and the 2023 film “Knock at the Cabin”. She has also written ten episodes and directed six episodes of the Apple TV series “Servant”. We are happy to see her carry on her fathers legacy of this genre of film to the next generation. “The Watchers” will be released by New Line Cinema on June 7th 2024.
